Hrmm... I see a lot of posts about liking the way the gay content is presented, so I guess I'm going to be one of the few complainers.  It isn't that the gay content is bad or anything like that, it's that the straight content is utterly unskippable.  I don't want to stare directly at some chick's vag or boobas, thank you very much.  I don't care how much gay content there is if I have to cross that particular wall in order to get to it, and those walls are constantly cropping up.

I often see those warnings about a game 'containing skippable gay content' and I think that's part of the issue; they take str8 as the given, and so unskippable str8 content is the solution, not the problem.  Well, its a problem for me, and the solution is to delete the game.

1. No. Why should I? As I mentioned before, there is no value in doing so. You are not a client. You even took the time to specify you never would be. My status as a professional and my interactions with a random bystander are unrelated. To be very blunt, I don't make my living via this site; thus my conduct with you doesn't matter. Perhaps more importantly, you're a random jackass on the internet who picks fights with strangers over trivial bullshit; even if I made my living entirely on this site, that still wouldn't be excuse enough to extend false courtesy to you.

2. No. Again, you focused in on the wrong part. The important part was telling them to find someone that was a native speaker to aid them with the issue. Volunteering myself was done primarily as a courtesy. You seem to think that I would charge them a great deal, but to be frank, there isn't any money to be made in editing these sorts of projects and I perform such jobs, again, as a courtesy.

Typically, I make $40 an hour for my time. A VN edited to completion is typically a job done for never more than $100 total, and usually less than that, no matter how long it takes. Now, since you don't seem to be aware, the exchange of money is not a benefit to me, but to my employer; it means that if I do a poor job, they have a means to hold me accountable, so they can be secure that I will do a full, complete, and high quality job. To me it may be pocket change, but to them it is the foundation of a legally binding contract that makes me liable should I somehow cost them profits with my work. For your edification, THAT is what it means to be a professional.

3. No, it was not referenced incorrectly.  Rather, you misunderstood what I was accusing you of over-inflated ego regarding.  Specifically, you seem to have taken it upon yourself that you know the 'correct' means to critique, the 'professional' way to behave, and that you know what matters to the world at large when it comes to making a VN. Given that unlike myself, you don't seem to have ever actually worked on one, that last point seems especially questionable. You also seem to be unable to accurately gauge your own behavior, and don't seem to realize when your wording is offensive, but rather to insist all the more doggedly on how pristine your chapel is. Despite that, you seem to believe you understand the intent behind my words, and ascribe them motives based on your erroneous interpretations.

Secondly, there's no need to damage ego; you're rude, thus I'm rude.  I'm a very simple man at heart, and prefer easily understood tit-for-tat relations.

4. Wrong. Data point of 1, but I do this myself from time to time. Despite your cries regarding my supposed ego, I do not view myself as unique, therefore... Actually, even if I did view myself as unique, it would still be valid since that still represents lost profits.

5. Wrong. If you want to reply, try not using an obvious apples to oranges comparison.  Frankly, what you said is so fallacious, it would easily double my response length to go over it... and frankly, I don't feel like it. Google can help you find the list online, and even better, unlike myself, search engines don't care about things like wasting time.

6. Wrong. Allow me to quote you directly, "this whole paragraph is irrelevant based on assumptions which you cannot prove."  Even better, unlike when you used the line, it's actually true in this case.

I don't think I'll respond to you again, so go ahead with your inevitable wrongheaded, fallacious and egotistical response.  For better or worse, I do happen to value my time, and I don't intend to give you any more of it until you pay me my going rate.  Unlike for M/M devs, I won't be giving you any discounts though.

I'll answer each question/point in order;
1. Yes.

2. Not when the primary purpose is as an honest review-please learn to discern the primary purpose from tertiary incentives. Whether the dev picks a pro or a well meaning volunteer is largely irrelevant to me as long as the quality of the work improves going forward.

3. Again, I suggest working on your ability to discern the primary purpose of a post; in that case, returning your acidity in kind. To be clear, you have been a stunningly rude example of Dunning-Kruger in action, and as you aren't a client/potential client, I have no incentives to return rudeness with politeness. Since I'm sure you couldn't tell, this paragraph has been my verbose way of saying 'go fuck yourself'.

4. Your entire second paragraph is irrelevant and pointless. Just because they didn't take the time to post doesn't mean that there weren't people who saw that issue and were immediately uninterested in the project as a whole. Since I need to spell it out, this typically results in not even sticking around long enough to see the sex scene, let alone posting for your benefit.

5. Third paragraph; Did you somehow miss the donation prompt that is the biggest draw for posting developing projects on this site???  Simply posting on this site is an attempt to monetize. The pick your own price model can even help devs figure out an ideal price point in action. Can't believe I had to explain this.

6. I'd love to say there was something interesting about your thought process, but alas.

No, no I shouldn't.  Never mind that the two things were mentioned in literally the same sentence, the obvious inference is that a free volunteer is not liable to do a professional quality job.  More importantly, if you were right that 'it doesn't matter much' the profession of 'editor' wouldn't exist.

Just because you don't think it matters doesn't mean that other people won't vote on the quality of a VN with their wallets. That's especially true on this site, where that's literally the primary pricing model.

If you don't know what you're talking about, maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself, rather than sharing your "advice".

The Good: The graphics. In fact, the animations are some of the best I've seen in a VN.

The Bad: The grammar. I'd suggest getting someone to look at it, and not just because I'm an editor myself. It's even more important in this case, since you're using AI voices. Any misspelling will result in the AI butchering words, which actually happens about 20 seconds into the game.

You could hire someone like me, but if you don't want to spend the cash, finding a free proofreader who speaks English natively is generally fairly easy.

Hrmm... My Chinese is basically non-existent.  In my other projects of this sort, the creators had at least enough knowledge of English for me to ask them what text was supposed to mean whenever there was confusion/translation errors/etc..  If you're using machine translation for all your English needs, that's probably not possible, unfortunately.

I'm an editor for hire, and I'm experienced in helping get games like this to a playable state in English.  For projects like this, I offer a fairly sizeable discount, and would be happy to help you get at least the English version the best that it can be.  Similarly, I can proofread/edit any ads you put out, etc.

I can provide references, if you like.  Just let me know if you're interested and we can discuss prices/terms/etc.

Yep!

I... have never regretted a curiosity click more than I do now.  I am currently questioning every single decision of my life that could have possibly lead me to the moment I listened to... whatever that shit was.

Cuz I'm one of the editors that helped with the translation.  Karunama is the handle I use for *non* porn or FFXIV related things.

"So far from what I read I didn't see typos in the english translation. ;)"

I love reading that so much.

Okay, having tried it, i did notice some grammatical errors that could stand to be ironed out.  I don't just say that because I could use more editing work, but there is that too, lol.

Also, a suggestion; It's reasonable to have an option for if you only want to see M/F or M/M but I think you should also have an option available for people who like and want to see both if possible.

I certainly am, thanks!

Two questions: First, I noticed the version numbers are quite high; Are you as close to release as that suggests?  Or perhaps I should ask, roughly how long do you expect it to be before the full release?
Second, can you avoid certain pairings you aren't into?  For example, I'm strictly into M/M.  Can I avoid the M/F stuff entirely, if I so desire?

A question; is there any way to be gay without getting the space racist tag?  Just cuz I don't want to bang the first lady alien I see doesn't mean I'm anti-alien.  I'm just anti-ladies.

Thanks for the consideration

I'd like to offer my services for proofreading/editing.  I am a native English speaker and professional editor, and I have worked on a number of other VNs such as Meyaoi's Seiyuu Danshi and Ertal's games (all except the first one).

That's exactly what I assumed you needed to do... but I've never seen any mushrooms I can interact with after the one I gave to the dragon.  There are some mushrooms growing on trees, but you can't click on those, so I must be blind, I guess.

Edit: Found them!  they are *really* well hidden, and most of them i wouldn't have thought I could grab since they're pretty far from the main character and you can't walk near them.

How do you get the scarab from krok?  He said something about mushrooms i think, but I don't see anything left I can interact with. I have 9 scarabs already and 2 keys, 2 vases and a flower; what am I missing?
